Coconut water is a popular drink for humans due to its numerous health benefits. However, cats don’t need to drink it to stay hydrated. While coconut water is generally safe for cats to drink in small amounts, it’s not necessary or recommended for them. Cats are obligate meat-eater. and their bodies are designed to obtain water primarily from their food. So, if you want to give your cat a treat, stick to something more appropriate for their diet and trust me they will thank you for it.

When I go to the social media I see a lot of comments if it’s okay for cat to consume coconut oil.

Well the the truth is Coconut oil also has more numerous health benefits such as improving digestion, skin and coat health, and strengthening the immune system. However, cats do not need coconut oil in their diet, and if you want to do it must be little, because excessive consumption can lead to diarrhea or digestive problem.

If you want to give your cat coconut oil, I will advice you to start with small amount then gradually increase it. If you are alike me that love to consult my pet doctors for everything then it  will be to consult with your  veterinarian before adding any new supplements to your cat’s diet.

However, like with all new foods, it’s important to introduce it gradually and watch for any signs of digestive upset. In addition, make sure to choose a coconut milk yogurt that doesn’t contain added sugars or artificial sweeteners.

What milk can cats drink?

There are just few milk in the market that cat can drink without having issues.

Before giving your cat any milk to drink I will advise to meet  your VET Dr.

Based on my research Cats should not drink cow’s milk or any other kind of milk that is not specifically formulated for cats.

Many cats are lactose intolerant and consuming milk can lead to digestive upset, diarrhea, and vomiting. Instead, stick to water or cat-specific milk substitutes that are available in pet stores.

Milk that cats can drink:

Milk you  shouldn’t give you Cat:

Soy milk:

While soy milk is lactose-free, it contains high levels of plant estrogens which can disrupt a cat’s hormonal balance and lead to health issues.

Almond milk

Almond milk is not recommended for cats as it is not nutritionally appropriate for their dietary needs. It also contains high levels of fat which can lead to obesity and other health problems.

Oat milk

Oat milk is a plant-based milk alternative that has gained popularity in recent years. While it’s generally safe for humans to drink, it’s not necessary or recommended for cats.

Cats are obligate carnivores and their bodies are designed to obtain nutrients primarily from animal sources. Oat milk may not provide the necessary nutrients that cats need to thrive.

Almond milk

Almond milk is another plant-based milk alternative that is safe for humans to drink. However, it’s not recommended for cats too. Like oat milk, almond milk does not provide the necessary nutrients that cats need and may cause digestive upset.

In conclusion, while cats can consume small amounts of coconut-based products, they’re not necessary or recommended as part of their diet.
